Belong Gaming Arena Opening In Columbus, Ohio

The Polaris Towne Center in Columbus, Ohio is getting an esports addition to its commercial residences. The arena will have several PC stations for competition, and seating for viewers. The space will also serve as the home arena for the Polaris Pilots, an amateur esports team in Columbus. This iteration of Belong’s arenas is the first U.S. based one out of Texas, and is their largest endeavor yet. The Polaris arena is set to open on December 10th, 2021.

DreamHack 2022

Esports LANs bring the community together in a powerful and incredible way. One of the largest events in esports was put in flux at the start of the pandemic, but will return to cities with COVID-19 protocols. DreamHack has announced their full schedule for 2022, and will hold ten events throughout the 2022 season, in various areas across the globe: California, Texas, Sweden, Spain, Australia, Netherlands, India, and Georgia. The Fighting Games Championship will happen at DreamHack Atlanta, and Intel Extreme Masters Dallas will happen at DreamHack Dallas.

Lakeshore Technical College Announces New Esports Arena

In Cleveland, Wisconsin the Lakeshore Technical College is opening a space for its esports teams to practice and compete. Lakeshore Technical College will field teams in League of Legends, Rocket League, and Super Smash Brothers, and students have the choice to either play in the arena for free or tryout for the teams. Students who are interested in trying out for the teams must have at least a 2.0 GPA to participate.

Admiral Moves From Academy Team to London Spitfire

London Spitfire is moving Oliver “Admiral” Vahar from its academy team, British Hurricane, to the main roster for the upcoming season. Since 2019, Admiral has called home to the European Contenders scene jumping from teams like ROAR Esports until 2021 when he joined British Hurricane. Admiral is the first Overwatch League player from Estonia, and the move will finish off the support roster for Spitfire.

Rogers State University Claims VALORANT NECC Title

As the semester ends for many university students, so does the athletic conference. For the New England Collegiate Conference, the championships have passed and a champion was crowned. Rogers State University won the championship for VALORANT, claiming the first national title for the program. Rogers State Universiy will look to carry this momentum and defend their title in spring 2022.
